Accessing Mindful Seeing
Mindful Seeing at the MET Museum
In our Accessing Mindful Seeing workshop, you’ll gain visual techniques to more easily connect to the present moment, which will help you increase your sense of wellbeing and diminish stress while also enhancing your observational and creative thinking skills.
With a set of powerful visual strategies regularly used by master artists, you’ll learn to override the inherent speed of your seeing and move beyond tendencies towards generalization present in perception, allowing you to firmly anchor in the now. From that state of enhanced presence, you’ll be able to expand your capacity for inner and outer awareness, which will also help you heighten your observational and creative thinking capacities.
The workshop will be based on interactive looking/guided discussions and a selection of hands-on perceptual art and writing exercises.
